BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The 2023-24 WKU Hilltoppers continued fall play defeating Southern Indiana on Saturday, October 14 at Nick Denes Field for its second win of the fall slate.

Prior to the contest, the Tops hosted the second-annual WKU Baseball Alumni Barbecue that saw former WKU players enjoy some barbecue and watch the 2023-24 Hilltoppers in action.

13 different arms took the mound for the Tops this afternoon with newcomer Jacob Bimbi earning the start. Dawson Hall, Grant Burleson, Cory Bosecker, Cole Heath, Lane Diuguid, Coby Moe, Mason Burns, Cal Higgins, Zach Dueñas, Luke Leverton, Lucas Litteral, and Jack Bennett all made their fall debuts on the rubber throughout the rest of the 14-inning game.

At the plate, Incoming transfer Zayd Brannigan knocked his first home run of the fall with a solo shot in the bottom of the fifth inning to break an early lead and give WKU the lead while freshman Bryer Arview found a gap for his first double in a Hilltopper uniform.

WKU Baseball will continue fall play next Saturday, October 21 with its final exhibition against outside competition against Bellarmine beginning at 2 p.m. CT at Nick Denes Field. The event is scheduled for 14 innings and will be open to the public.
