BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — After earning its first league win, WKU Hilltopper Basketball will look to keep momentum rolling in its direction as it travels to UAB on Wednesday night. The 8 p.m. CT game will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
The Hilltoppers most recently won at UTSA on Saturday, 74-64, snapping their five-game losing streak. UAB lost both games in its Florida road swing last week, falling to Florida Atlantic 88-86 and FIU 90-87 in overtime.

WKU Hilltopper Basketball went toe-to-toe with the top team in the league and took the lead in the final minute, but two clutch 3s by UAB proved to be the difference in a 68-65 loss at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The Hilltoppers took their first lead of the game at 63-62 with three free throws from graduate senior guard Camron Justice with 44 seconds to play.
UAB answered with a 3 from Justin Brown, but WKU tied it again at 65-all with a lob dunk by junior center Jamarion Sharp.
The Blazers had 12 seconds for the final shot, ultimately getting a deep game-winning 3-pointer from star guard Jordan Walker with four seconds to play. WKU's final shot to tie was off the mark.
The Hilltoppers trailed for more than 37 minutes, down 34-27 at halftime and 41-31 early in the second half.
WKU went on a 10-0 run to tie it at 41 on a basket by fifth-year senior guard Josh Anderson with 13:36 to go, but couldn't pull in front.
Anderson led WKU with 16 points and six rebounds off the bench.
Sharp (11 points), Justice (10) and senior forward Jairus Hamilton (10) also reached double figures. Sharp added six rebounds and six blocks, and Justice handed out five assists.
Walker led all scorers with 21 points in 38 minutes.
TOP STORYLINES
- Over the last seven games, Dayvion McKnight is averaging 22.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game while shooting 56.4% (57-101) from inside the arc and 81.4% (33-43) from the charity stripe. He's scored 25 points or more in 4 of those 7 games.
- Head coach Rick Stansbury has missed the last four games, all in conference play, due to health issues. Associate head coach Phil Cunningham stepped in the interim as he did before in 2021.
- WKU taken its three conference losses by a total of 12 points. The Hilltoppers are outscoring opponents 125-97 in the first half but being outscored 183-153 in the second.
- As of Tuesday, Jamarion Sharp leads the country in total blocks (67) and blocks per game (4.5). UAB is third as a team in scoring offense (86.6 ppg). Jordan Walker is third individual in points per game (23.5).
- In WKU's win over Wright State, Dayvion McKnight became the ninth player in college basketball since 2010-11 to log at least his stat line or better: 32 points, three assists, four steals, four rebounds and 76% FG.
- Dayvion McKnight became the first Hilltopper since 2000 to log seven steals when he did so at Austin Peay on Nov. 30.
- With 13 blocks against Indianapolis on Nov. 15, the Hilltoppers broke the program's record for blocks in a single game.
- In WKU's 127-61 rout of Kentucky State on Nov. 12, the team broke numerous 3-point shooting records for both the program and in NCAA DI history.
