BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Baseball will hold its first official practice tonight at Nick Denes Field. Practice will begin at 6 p.m. followed by batting practice and a team scrimmage starting at 7 p.m.
The start of official practice marks the beginning of a new era at WKU Baseball with the newly hired head coach Marc Rardin and his staff along with 20 newcomers, joining the 18 players retained from the previous season.
WKU has three contests scheduled for its fall ball slate in the month of October. They will open play at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Oct. 1, while hosting Murray State at Nick Denes Field. All WKU Baseball Alumni will be welcomed back with a barbecue and the game will be free to the public.Â
The following Saturday, Oct. 8, the Hilltoppers will take a road trip to Nashville to take on the Lipscomb Bisons. The teams are scheduled to begin play at noon CT, and will play 14 innings total, giving each squad an opportunity to utilize numerous players during the exhibition competition.
WKU will wrap up its brief fall season with a 6 p.m. CT home contest against Team Ontario on Wednesday, Oct. 12 with the scrimmage being free to the public.Â
