VERONA, Wis. – WKU Men's Golf got in the first round of the shortened Badger Invitational hosted by Wisconsin. The event will be shortened from its original 54 holes to just 36 due to inclement weather on Sunday and Monday.
Leading the Hilltopper pack on Monday was junior Connery Meyer. He shot even-par at the par-72, 7,259-yard University Ridge Golf Course. He is tied for 24th overall.
In his first start in the lineup for WKU, sophomore Will Stewart posted a 3-over 75. The Illinois native is tied for 56th.
The Hilltoppers had two 7-over 79's to end the scoring in senior Luke Fuller and graduate senior Landon Carner. The pair are tied for 79th on the individual leaderboard. WKU as a team is in 17th after carding a 17-over 305.
In the individual competition, redshirt sophomore Nic Hofman moved up four spots into t-10th with a 2-over 73 at the par-71, 6,105-yard Pleasant View Golf Course in Middleton, Wis.
Both the team tournament and individual competition will get in one more round on Tuesday to end WKU's golf for the week.
