TEXARKANA, Texas – WKU Men's Golf finished the first round of the C-USA Championships after multiple hours of weather delays on Monday evening.
Junior Luke Fuller shot the low round of the day for the Tops at even-par 72 at the 6,969-yard Texarkana Country Club. He racked up 15 pars, an eagle and two bogeys to tie for 17th through the first day of golf.
Sophomore Connery Meyer posted a 2-over 74 in the first round to tie for 31st overall. Meyer came out of the gate strong with two birdies on his front nine.
Rounding out scoring for the Red and White was fifth-year senior Caleb O'Toole and redshirt junior Thomas Hogan. They both turned in 3-over 75's to start the tournament.
Freshman Riley Grindstaff carded a 5-over 77 for his first-ever round in a collegiate conference championship.
The Hilltoppers are currently in 10th place overall with a team score of 8-over 296. They are four strokes back from the top six.
WKU will be back at it on Tuesday morning for the second round with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT off the back nine.
