BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After taking a weekend off for the holiday, WKU Track & Field is back at it over in Lexington, Ky., at the Kentucky Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

There will be 15 teams competing at the Kentucky Invitational with 13 of the 15 hailing from the Bluegrass State.
WKU most recently competed at the UAB Green and Gold Invite where freshman Keegan Barnette and senior Clint Sherman set new facility records in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and 5k, respectively. In addition to Barnette and Sherman, Queen Couch won the 100-meter dash, Ajla Basic won the hammer throw and Savannah Heckman claimed the women's 5k title.
Friday's events at the Kentucky Invitational will begin with the women's hammer throw and javelin at 1:30 p.m. CT. Men's pole vault and men's hammer throw will also compete on Friday afternoon as action on the track starts with the women's 400-meter hurdles at 3:30 p.m. CT.
On Saturday, the field and the track will both start at 11 a.m. CT. Women's shot put kicks off field events while the 4x100-meter relays begin on the track. Events will run through the 4x400-meter relay at 3 p.m. CT.
