BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Softball continues their homestand this weekend to host Marshall in their sixth Conference USA series of the season. The Hilltoppers enter this series with a 28-8 record on the season while Marshall sits at 29-11. Both squads are tied at 11-4 in league play for the top spot across both divisions.
All games of the weekend series will be available on HSSN's Facebook Live stream.Â
The Hilltoppers are coming off of a 5-0 midweek victory over Lipscomb following a bye weekend from C-USA play. Marshall hosted Morehead State on Wednesday and won by a score of 9-1 in five innings.
WKU has claimed three out of the last five matchups against Marshall. The last time the Hilltoppers faced Marshall was in 2019 in Huntington. WKU and Marshall have each played Ohio, UAB, Charlotte, Florida Atlantic and FIU this season. The Hilltoppers took an overall record of 10-4 against the common opponents while Marshall sits at 8-5.Â
WKU won two games and lost one against UAB, while Marshall was swept in the conference series against UAB. Both the Hilltoppers and Thundering Herd swept their series against FIU, but WKU claimed victories against Ohio in both games, while Marshall lost their matchup against Ohio. WKU went 1-2 against Florida Atlantic while Marshall won two and lost one. Marshall swept the conference series against Charlotte, while the Hilltoppers went 2-1 against the 49ers.Â

TOP STORYLINES
- WKU Softball has played Marshall 20 times in program history, with Marshall leading at 11-9. WKU won the last three out of five games with the last game back in 2019. The Hilltoppers are 4-4 against the Thundering Herd in Bowling Green and have won 2 of the last 3 at home.
- WKU head coach Amy Tudor is now 479-371-2 in her career. Since coming to The Hill ahead of the 2014 campaign, Tudor boasts an overall record of 262-166-1.Â
- This will be the Hilltoppers sixth conference series of the season.​ They currently sit atop the East Division at 11-4 along with Marshall.
- WKU has seen three athletes earn Conference USA Player of the Week honors in five weeks of the award being distributed this season. Bailey Curry, Taylor Sanders and Brylee Hage have all been honored with the accolade this season. Shelby Nunn became the Hilltoppers' fourth athlete recognized this year, earning C-USA's Pitcher of the Week.
- Shelby Nunn was named WKU's second-ever Preseason Pitcher of the Year, which is the first in the Conference USA era. Adrienne Lathrop was the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year ahead of the 2008 campaign.
