PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – WKU Women's Golf fifth-year senior Olivia Reed led the Lady Toppers through round one of the Conference USA Women's Golf Championships.
The Carleton, Mich., native is tied for 10th through the opening 18 holes after shooting 4-over 76 at the par-72, 6,154-yard PGA National Champion Course. Reed is just a single shot back from the top five and three shots out of second after leading the field in par-3 scoring.
Junior Sarah Arnold had the second-best score of the day for WKU with a 7-over 79. She is tied for 26th and is within striking distance of the top 10.
WKU counted a 10-over 82 from freshman Faith Martin and an 11-over 83 from sophomore Rachel Rich. They are in 43rd and 44th, respectively. Senior Kenlie Barrett rounded out the lineup with a 14-over 86 on the day.
Overall, the Lady Toppers are in 11th as a team after shooting 32-over 320 on Monday. They will tee off with Marshall and UAB on the back nine beginning at 6:50 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning.
