PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – Lady Topper Golf persevered through another tough, windy day at the Conference USA Women's Golf Championships in Florida as fifth-year senior Olivia Reed moved to the inside of the top 10.
Reed once again posted the low score of the day for the squad, shooting 5-over 77 at the par-72, 6,154-yard PGA National – Champion Course. The Carleton, Mich., native moved up three spots to t-7th.
Reed stayed even keel throughout the day, logging pars on 14 of her 18 holes. She is just two shots back from a top five and All-Tournament team finish.
Senior Kenlie Barrett improved by seven shots from Monday to Tuesday and carded a 7-over 79 in the second round. She is tied for 44th overall.
WKU also counted a 9-over 81 from freshman Faith Martin and a 13-over 85 from junior Sarah Arnold. In her first-ever appearance in a conference championship, Martin is tied for 39th overall while Arnold is just behind her, tied for 41st.
Sophomore Rachel Rich is currently tied for 56th on the leaderboard.
As a team, the Lady Toppers moved up a spot into 10th place with a 34-over 322 on Tuesday. WKU will tee off for the third and final round with Marshall and UAB at 6:50 a.m. CT on the 10th hole.
