FRANKLIN, Tenn. – WKU Men's Golf fifth-year senior Caleb O'Toole led the squad through the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at the par-71, 7,000-yard Vanderbilt Legends Club on Friday.
O'Toole posted a 1-under 70 for the team, ending his round with three birdies in his last four holes. He is tied for 21st on the leaderboard, just one shot back from the top 15 individuals.
Junior Luke Fuller posted an even-par 71 on the day, racking up pars on 12 of his 18 holes. The Mount Sterling, Ky., native is tied for 31st overall.
Finishing at 1-over 72 for the opening round was sophomore Connery Meyer. He started and ended the day with birdies and is tied for 47th after the first 18 holes.
WKU's final counting score of the day came from redshirt junior Thomas Hogan who shot 6-over 77. He is tied for 83rd while freshman Riley Grindstaff is in 86th after shooting 11-over 82.
The Hilltoppers will be back in action beginning with tee times starting at 10:25 a.m. CT on Saturday.
