BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Tennis continues the 2022 season this Friday, March 25 on the road at Butler and Saturday, March 26 against Illinois-Chicago.
Both matches will be played at Butler in Indianapolis and will begin at 10 a.m. ET.
Last weekend, the Lady Toppers hosted a home match against Eastern Illinois on Saturday, March 19. WKU picked up win number 13 on the season, beating the Panthers by a 7-0 sweep.
The Lady Toppers are 3-0 all-time against Butler, playing for the first time in 2017. WKU took the decision by sweeping the Bulldogs, 7-0 in Nashville, Tenn. The sides have faced off in each of the last two seasons, both matches going in favor of the Tops.
Butler comes into this matchup with a 5-11 record overall. They are coming off a 4-2 victory against St. Louis at home. Last season, the Bulldogs finished with a record of 6-10, losing to Depaul in the Big East quarterfinals, 4-0.
This will be the first ever dual match between WKU and Illinois-Chicago. The Flames come into the match with an overall record of 8-3, coming off a victory last Thursday against Western Michigan, winning 4-3.
UIC had a record of 19-6 last year, winning the Horizon League Championship, 4-2, against Youngstown State. Their season came to an end against No. 15 Ohio State in the NCAA Tournament, 4-0.
