BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Hilltopper Golf will open its spring season with individual golf at the Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate hosted by Georgia Southern on Sunday and Monday in Statesboro, Ga.

WKU is taking five individuals to the event at the par-72, 6,900-yard Georgia Southern University Golf Course. Fifth year senior Jack Poole, sophomore Connery Meyer, redshirt junior Thomas Hogan and freshmen Elliott Pope and Will Stewart will all make the trip to the peach state.
Four of those five Hilltoppers saw the course in a competitive nature in the fall at least once. Hogan and Meyer both played in three events for the Red and White while Poole played in one and Pope played in four. This weekend will be the first appearance in a Hilltopper uniform for freshman Stewart.
WKU is coming off one of its stronger falls in recent years as three Hilltoppers currently have a season stroke average under 74.0.
