BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball brings a five-game winning streak home this week for two games, starting against Charlotte at 7 p.m. CT Thursday. The game will air on CBS Sports Network.

The Hilltoppers extended their win streak to five Monday with an 87-77 road win at Southern Miss. It marked the first time since 2017-18 that WKU has won four straight league road games. Charlotte most recently lost 78-63 at Middle Tennessee on Sunday.

WKU is 23-12 all-time against the 49ers. Hilltopper head coach Rick Stansbury is 9-4 in his career against Charlotte.

• During WKU's five-game winning streak, the Hilltoppers have shot 51% from the field and 43% from 3-point range, held opponents to 31% from 3, and committed just 8.4 turnovers per game.

• As of Tuesday, WKU leads the country in fewest fouls per game (11.9) and ranks third in total blocks (153), seventh in blocks per game (5.9), 27th in field-goal percentage (47.7%), 24th in total steals (217), 40th in steals per game (8.3) and 39th in total assists (390).

• Last month, junior center Jamarion Sharp was named to the watch list for the Naismith Men's National Defensive Player of the Year. This is the second straight year WKU has put a player on the list, with Charles Bassey making the semifinals for the award last season. WKU is one of just four schools – along with Baylor, Tennessee and Richmond – to have a player on the watch list the last two seasons.

• Jamarion Sharp is the tallest player in college basketball at 7 feet, 5 inches. He's also the tallest player in the history of the Hilltopper program. As of Tuesday, Sharp led the nation in total blocks (117) and total dunks (67), ranked second in blocks per game (4.5) and block percentage (17.3%).

• Jamarion Sharp has more blocks himself this season (117) than 312 Division I programs have as a team, which is 89% of all D-I teams. He also holds the WKU record for most blocks in a season.

• Sophomore guard Dayvion McKnight is the only player in the country averaging at least 15 points, five rebounds, six assists and two steals per game this year. He ranks sixth nationally in total assists (160) and eighth in assists per game (6.2).

WKU led wire-to-wire, snapping a five-game losing streak with a dominant 78-59 road win at Charlotte.

The Hilltoppers jumped all over the 49ers out of the gate and eventually led by 26 in the final three minutes. It was WKU's first true road win of the season, coming at Halton Arena where Charlotte was 8-1 at home coming into the game.

Camron Justice led all scorers with 22 points, and Josh Anderson added 20 points with eight rebounds and five steals. Dayvion McKnight filled the stat sheet with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists, and Luke Frampton knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
