JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Through 36 holes, WKU Women's Golf leads the First Coast Classic by a stroke. The team bounced back from the morning round shooting 18-over 306 to shoot 2-under 286 in the second round. The under-par team score is tied for sixth-lowest in program history.
Junior Sarah Arnold logged the low score of the day for the Lady Toppers shooting 4-under 68 in the second round. It ties for seventh-best by an individual in the record books.
Fifth-year senior Olivia Reed put together the most complete day at the par-72, 6,002-yard Deerwood Country Club, shooting even-par 72 followed by a 2-under 70. She's sitting in third, just one stroke out of second and five out of first.
Sitting in the top 10 alongside Reed is sophomore Rachel Rich. She shot 3-over 75 and 2-over 74 to tie for sixth on the day. She has a chance to move into the top five as she's just a shot back.
Senior Kenlie Barrett also had both scores count for WKU as she shot 7-over 79 and improved by five shots in the second round to shoot 2-over 74.
Freshman Faith Martin counted for the Lady Toppers in the first round with an 8-over 80. She shot 11-over 83 in the afternoon.
WKU will play a final 18 holes on Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. CT.
