MOBILE, Ala. – WKU Men's Golf completed the first round of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate and was partially through the second round when play was suspended due to darkness.
Through the first round at the par-72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course, WKU was in 13th as a team at the highly competitive tournament.
Junior Luke Fuller led the squad in first 18 holes with a 2-under 70. He logged five birdies on the day, including a stretch with three in four holes in his first nine.
The Hilltoppers went on to count two 5-over 77s and one 6-over 78. Both freshman Riley Grindstaff and fifth-year senior Caleb O'Toole turned in the 5-over 77s on the day and are tied for 66th overall.
Sophomores Connery Meyer and Aaron Pha both carded 78s on the day to tie for 69th through the first round.
WKU has roughly four to five holes to finish on Tuesday morning prior to starting the third and final round of the Intercollegiate. The Hilltoppers are looking to resume play at 8 a.m. CT.
