This weekend's meetings will be the sixth and seventh times that the Tops have faced UT Arlington. WKU leads the all-time series 4-1. The Aggie Classic will be the first time that the Hilltoppers have faced both Texas A&M Corpus Christi and Texas A&M.
WKU's roster features three fifth-year seniors for the 2022 season. Shelby Nunn and Maddie Bowlds return for their fifth seasons on The Hill while transfer Bailey Curry will close her career in the red and white. The Hilltoppers return nine players from last season's C-USA champion squad that played three NCAA Tournament games.

- WKU Softball has faced off against UT Arlington five times in program history. The Tops lead the all-time series 4-1. This weekend marks the first time that the Hilltoppers have gone head-to-head against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M.
- The Hilltoppers will face a total of three Power 5 teams in four games this season with Texas A&M being the first in the Aggie Classic on Opening Weekend.
- Head Coach Amy Tudor owns a 16-1 record in season-openers across her career. Coach Tudor enters her 18th season as a head coach – ninth on The Hill – and owns a 451-364-2 career coaching record.

- In the Conference USA Preseason Coaches Poll, the Hilltoppers were predicted to finish third in C-USA, while Maddie Bowlds, Taylor Davis and Shelby Nunn named to the Preseason All-Conference team.
- Shelby Nunn was named WKU's second-ever Preseason Pitcher of the Year, which is the first in the Conference USA era. Adrienne Lathrop was the Sun Belt Conference Preseason Pitcher of the Year ahead of the 2008 campaign.
