DENTON, Texas – WKU Cross Country closed out competition in Denton, Texas for the 2022 C-USA held at the TWU Soccer Complex.
As a whole, the women's squad placed ninth – their best finish since 2015, averaging a 24.90 pace in the 6k.
The third time this season, Lucy Rutherford led the pack now with a top-50 finish for the Red and White. The junior from Nashville completed her second-best 6k time at the championships, clocking in at 23:28.10.

The men wrapped up the championship in eighth-place, surpassing their ninth-place finale in 2021. Junior Brad Wiggins finished first on behalf of WKU for the second consecutive meet. The transfer clocked in at 27:15.50 in the men's 8k, in which the team averaged 28.97.
