BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Baseball will suit up one final time in 2022 on Wednesday, October 12 against Team Ontario before the beginning of the 2023 spring season.
The contest is scheduled for 14 innings beginning at 6 p.m. CT at Nick Denes Field and will be free to the public.
"I think we are kind of catching some momentum with our fall practice right now and kids' kind of finding their stride within the culture that we are building with everything being new," said head coach Marc Rardin. "Also, everything that comes with the stresses and tests with a new coaching staff and how fall is going to be. We have shown progress with last Saturday at Lipscomb to the practices, the weight room, and really just how they talk and how they walk. To go into tomorrow night in our last scrimmage, I want to continue to see progress and so many of those links that will continue to grow this program. Whether that is continuing to throw strikes with two pitches from each staff member, situational hitting, two strike hitting and how many balls we are actually barreling up. I have little things that are obviously check marks for us that are not even scoreboard oriented. The scoreboard is kind of just a result. We have a lot of those little details that we are still challenging them and working on."
Last Saturday, Oct. 8, the Hilltoppers visited the Lipscomb Bisons in Nashville, Tenn. for its first road game of the 2022 fall season.
WKU came home with the win, beating the Bisons by a final tally of 14-8 on Saturday afternoon.
