BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field is returning to the Music City for its second indoor meet of the season as the squad competes in the Vanderbilt Invitational on Friday and Saturday.

General Meet Info
WKU is coming off of the Commodore Challenge where Steven Simmons finished first in the men's 300-meter and Savannah Heckman placed second in the women's mile. Her 19-second PR in the event was good for third in female indoor program history, earning her the first Conference USA Female Track Athlete of the Week award of the season.
Overall, the Red and White brought back 10 top-five finishes from eight different events including the women's mile, the men's weight throw, shot put, 60-meter, 60-meter hurdles, 300-meter, mile and 4x400-meter relay.
On Friday, Audrey Griffin and Samyzia Sears will compete in the women's pentathlon, kicking off WKU's day at 11:30 a.m. CT. More Hilltoppers will compete in the afternoon as Katie Isenbarger makes her return to the high jump pit at 3 p.m. and men's weight throw begins at the same time. Running events will cycle through on the track from 5:30 to 7:50 p.m.
Action starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning with the men's shot put. Women's pole vault and shot put will round out the field events for WKU in the afternoon while events on the track run from noon until 4:30, ending with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays.
WKU is traveling with 22 women and 19 men to the Vanderbilt Invitational, including multiple Hilltoppers who are competing for their first time this season.
