The match theme is "Black Out" and all WKU fans are encouraged to wear black to support the Lady Toppers. There will also be free pizza for the first 100 WKU students at the match. Students must present a valid WKU ID to be eligible.

- The Lady Toppers are off to a 2-0-0 start with a pair of wins in the opening week of the regular season against Austin Peay and Union University.
- Junior forward Katie Erwin was named Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week for her stellar play in the first week of the season. The Louisville, Kentucky native notched seven total points in the two games with two goals and three assists.
- The WKU defense has yet to give up a goal through four matches, two exhibitions and two official matches. In the two official matches combined, the Lady Topper have only given up three total shots.
- The Lady Toppers have scored five goals through two matches. Erwin has played a part in all five goals, either scoring or assisting. Mackenzie Crittenberger, Annah Hopkins and Briana Sayoc each have one goal.
Series History
- Thursday's match will be the sixth between WKU and Vanderbilt all-time. The most recent meeting came in the 2018 season in Nashville. Vanderbilt won that match, 2-0.
- The Commodores own a 5-0-0 record against the Lady Toppers.
- Vanderbilt has come to Bowling Green two times (2012 and 2017) previous to Thursday's match.

- Vanderbilt entered the season ranked No. 18 in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Commodores are now receiving votes in the poll, but are no longer in the Top 25.
- The Commodores defeated Tennessee Tech to open the season and then tied Purdue with an equalizing goal in the 90th minute.
- Vanderbilt was picked to finish fourth in the SEC in the preseason poll.
- The Commodores have 12 players who played in at least 12 matches last season, including All-SEC picks Maddie Elwell and Ella Shamburger.
