BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Softball head coach Amy Tudor has announced the addition of Louisiana-transfer Bailey Curry to the Hilltopper program. Curry joins the Red and White from the Ragin' Cajun program and will be eligible to compete immediately for the Hilltoppers.
"We are excited to add Bailey to our team," Tudor shared. "She has played and succeeded at a very high level. She has a great work ethic and will bring a big bat to our offense."
A native of Frankfort, Kentucky, Curry returns to the Commonwealth following stops at Toledo and Louisiana.
In her freshman season at Toledo (2018), Curry was the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Freshman of the Year and was named to the NFCA All-Great Lakes Region team. She led the Rockets in average (.362), hits (64), home runs (14), RBI (46), walks (34), slugging (.633) and on-base percentage (.465) during her collegiate debut campaign. The Rockets went 35-23 on the season and would appear in the National Invitational Softball Championship (NISC)
Curry played her next three seasons at Louisiana (2019, 2020 and 2021) owning a collective batting average of .298 across 91 starts and 130 games played. She racked up 75 total hits including eight doubles and 15 home runs while driving in 69 runs. Curry operated at a .508 slugging percentage while owning a .419 on-base percentage.
While in Lafayette, Curry has split time between first base and designated player. The Ragin' Cajuns posted a record of 117-24 during Curry's time there in addition to appearing in two NCAA Regionals. She was named to the 2019 All Sun Belt Conference Team and 2021 All-SBC Tournament Team.
Across her career, Curry is a three-time regular season conference champion and two-time conference tournament champion.
A four-year letterwinner at Anderson County (Ky.) High School, Currie was a four-time Eighth Region Player of the Year (2014-17) and three-time first team all-state selection (2015-17). She finished her prep career with a Kentucky state-record 75 home runs to go along with 332 hits, 286 RBI and 74 doubles during her prep career. Curry was a Kentucky West All-Star selection in 2016 and 2017 and played travel ball for ASA Gold 18U Team Kentucky, helping team finish third at the Triple Crown Nationals in 2016. She is now a member of the Anderson County High School Hall of Fame.
Born July 9, 1999, Bailey is the daughter of Paul and Missy Curry. She has two brothers, Dylan and Logan, who both played football at Ball State.
