Track & Field Hosts Annual Hilltopper Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field is slated to host the annual Hilltopper Relays on Friday and Saturday at the Charles M. Ruter Track & Field Complex on WKU's campus. WKU will also celebrate the 2020 and 2021 Senior Day on Saturday afternoon.

At its latest outing, WKU brought back 15 top-10 finishes from the Ole Miss Classic. The men's 4x100-meter relay squad won the event after posting a 41.27. Sophomore pole vaulter Devon Montgomery cleared the program's third-best height in male outdoor history at 4.72 meters (15' 5.75"). It was the team's first outdoor meet in 684 days.

The Hilltopper Relays will be host to 13 teams, including WKU, as well as 21 unattached competitors.

A variety of field events will kick off the Hilltopper Relays on Friday afternoon. Men's pole vault and women's high jump will start the meet at 1 p.m. Shot put, hammer throw and long jump will also compete on Friday afternoon. The evening will close with the women's 5,000-meter at 5:00 p.m. followed by the men's at 5:30.

Saturday will begin with women's discus at 9 a.m., followed by the men. The track will fill up with action starting at noon with the 4x100-meter relays. Running events will continue all throughout the afternoon as triple jump and javelin are schedule for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., respectively, to wrap up the field events. WKU will pause action on the track for Senior Day recognition at approximately 2:05 p.m. The day is expected to conclude with the 4x400-meter relay around 5:30.
