Schedule of Events
The Hilltoppers last hit the track at the 2021 Conference USA Indoor Championships in late February. Hindered by several injuries, the squad managed to earn four podium finishes. Sophomore Grace Turner tied for third in the high jump, graduate senior Marlowe Mosley grabbed third-place finishes in both the 200 and 400-meter and the men's Distance Medley Relay (Sherman, Allen, Buchanan, Troxell) found the podium for the first time since 2014, placing third. The team earned points in nine different events across the men's and women's championships.
WKU will be traveling a squad of 28 student-athletes, 20 males and eight females, to compete in the Ole Miss Classic. The meet will start with freshmen Kaison Barton and Jake Robinson as well as juniors John Elam, Joel Dittoe and Brett Brannon in the hammer throw at 3 p.m. CT on Friday afternoon. The throwers will pick back up in action on Saturday morning, at 9 a.m. CT, with discus.
Running events start at 11 a.m. CT as the first runner for the Red and White will be junior Emerson Wells in the men's steeplechase at 11:15. Sophomore Grace Turner, freshman Allison Ferguson and senior Nikki Ogorek are all due to compete in the women's pole vault starting at 11:30. WKU will finish off field events with men's shot put at 2 p.m. followed by men's pole vault at 3 p.m.
Events on the track will be run from 11 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. WKU is slated to compete in both men's relays as well as several sprint and distance events on the men's and women's sides. Women will precede men in every running event throughout the day.
