BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Women's Golf is slated to host the annual Battle of the Bluegrass on Saturday, a match play event between the Lady Toppers and the Louisville Cardinals.
The match was originally scheduled for Sunday and has been moved due to expected inclement weather.
WKU will tee off at The Club at Olde Stone on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. CT. Tee times are expected to roll through the 9 o'clock hour as there will be at least five 1-on-1 matches.
This will be the first event in the 2020-21 season that WKU has competed in the Commonwealth. The Lady Toppers currently have four Kentucky natives on the roster including graduate senior Mary Joiner, redshirt senior Teri Doss, freshman Addie Westbrook and, the most recent addition, freshman Faith Martin.
At the 2020 Battle of the Bluegrass, the Cardinals defeated the Lady Toppers 6.5-0.5 with seven matches played. Multiple matches came down to the final holes as Sarah Arnold halved her match on 18 to earn WKU's half point.
Spectators are welcome at the unique match-play event. Social distancing is required and masks are encouraged out on the course. Tee times have potential to change due to impending weather. For active updates, follow @WKUWomensGolf on Twitter and Instagram.
