HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball concludes its series with Marshall at 1 p.m. CT Sunday in Huntington, W.Va. The game will stream online on CBS Sports Network on Facebook.

The Hilltoppers took the opening game of the series Friday with an 81-73 home victory, in which Josh Anderson and Charles Bassey combined for 43 points. WKU outrebounded the Herd 46-27 in the win.

WKU is 19-12 all-time against Marshall, including 5-9 in Huntington. WKU has won four straight in the series and six of the last eight. Rick Stansbury is 6-4 in his career against the Thundering Herd.

• WKU's 10-4 start is its best through 14 games since the 2007-08 season, when the Hilltoppers advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.
• WKU is 4-0 in games decided by three points or less this season. 10 of the Hilltoppers' 14 games have been decided by six points or less.

• WKU has four top-110 NET wins so far this season over Alabama (22), Marshall (71), Rhode Island (73) and Memphis (107). Two of its losses came vs. West Virginia (26) on a neutral court and at Louisville (24). The Hilltoppers' NET non-conference strength of schedule is ranked 17th in the nation.

• As of Saturday, Charles Bassey leads the nation in total rebounds (160), total blocks (44), dunks (36) and double-doubles (9). He's ranked third nationally in rebounds per game (12.3), defensive rebounds per game (8.8) and blocks per game (3.4). Only 70 programs in the nation have more blocks as a team than Bassey by himself.
• As of Saturday, the Hilltoppers rank sixth in the country in free throws made (235) and seventh in free-throw percentage (80.5%). Taveion Hollingsworth is 16th nationally with 62 made free throws.

• After making 8 of 29 3-pointers (27.6%) in WKU's first five games, Luke Frampton has made 21 of 42 long-range shots (50%) in the Hilltoppers' last nine games.

WKU got strong efforts from Josh Anderson and Charles Bassey and dominated the free-throw line to pick up an 81-73 home win over Marshall on Friday.
Â
The senior guard Anderson gave the Hilltoppers 22 points, four steals and 9-of-9 free throws, while the junior center Bassey turned in a monster performance with 21 points, a career-high 19 rebounds and five blocks.

WKU made 19 of 21 free throws and shot 47.5% from the field to help offset 20 turnovers.

Marshall kept chipping away in the second half, and a 10-0 brought the Thundering Herd within one at 60-59 after a 3-pointer by Jannson Williams with 10:04 remaining.

The Hilltoppers answered with huge back-to-back 3s by redshirt junior guard Luke Frampton and redshirt senior guard Kenny Cooper.

Marshall got back within six with under two minutes to go, but WKU senior guard Taveion Hollingsworth stayed composed with a waning shot clock and found Bassey for a lob dunk with 28 seconds to go.
