BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball hosts a key game in the standings against Louisiana Tech at 8 p.m. CT Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena. The game will air on CBS Sports Network.

The game has been designated a Diddle Blackout and all fans are encouraged to wear black. The team will wear their new black uniforms, and the first 2,000 fans will receive a free black T-shirt.

The Hilltoppers lost two games last week at Florida Atlantic and FIU. They're 7-3 in C-USA and one game out of first place, trailing both Louisiana Tech and North Texas at 8-2.

Louisiana Tech has won four straight in conference play. The Hilltoppers are 17-16 all-time against the Bulldogs, including 9-5 at home. The teams have traded wins in their last five meetings. WKU head coach Rick Stansbury is 4-2 in his career against Louisiana Tech.

• WKU will be hosting a Diddle Blackout on Thursday night and will wear new black jerseys for the first time at home this season. The jerseys debuted last month at UAB. This is the first time WKU has had an alternate jersey since 2015-16, and the first time it's worn black jerseys since 2014-15.

• In the last eight games, junior guard Taveion Hollingsworth is averaging 20.1 points per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field and 87.5 (49 of 56) percent from the free-throw line. Hollingsworth now has 1,335 career points and ranks 20th on WKU's all-time scoring list.

• Since the season-ending injury to Charles Bassey, redshirt junior forward Carson Williams is averaging 14.8 points and 7.7 rebounds over the last 12 outings. He's shooting 56.5 percent from the field overall.

• Junior guard Josh Anderson entered the starting lineup with Bassey out. After reaching double figures in two of the first nine games of the year, Anderson has scored at least 10 points in 11 of the last 13.

• As of Tuesday, WKU ranked 48th in the country in field-goal percentage (46.4), fifth in free-throw percentage (78.4), 20th in free throws made (371), fifth in fouls per game (13.6) and 58th in scoring offense (76.6 ppg).

• WKU has made 90 more free throws (371) than its opponents have even attempted (281) through 22 games.

• WKU has six active players averaging between 15.4 points and 8.1 points per game.

WKU once again built a halftime lead on the road, but couldn't hold on for a 62-50 loss at Louisiana Tech.
Â
WKU held Louisiana Tech to 26.7 percent shooting in the first half and didn't allow the Bulldogs to score for the final 4:34 before halftime. The Hilltoppers scored the final seven points of the half to open a 28-21 advantage at the break.

But Louisiana Tech went on a 19-2 run to start the second half, and the Bulldogs' 15 straight at one point.

Charles Bassey led WKU with 16 points and eight rebounds.
