SCOUTING IUPUI
After two weekend tournaments, IUPUI enters the Hilltopper Spring Fling with a 3-7 record. The Jaguars picked up Opening Weekend wins over Western Illinois and Evansville before earning their third win last weekend at UTEP in an eight-inning decision. Last year, IUPUI owned an 17-38 overall record including an 11-10 mark in Horizon League play. In five all-time meetings between the Hilltoppers and Jaguars, WKU leads the series 4-1 with all five meetings occurring on The Hill.
LOOKING AT AUSTIN PEAY
Austin Peay is off to a 4-7 start on the 2019 season. The Govs opened the season by splitting a doubleheader with Chattanooga on the Mocs' home field. Two weekends ago, WKU posted a 5-0 at the Chatt Challenge including a 12-2 over UTC. Since then, APSU has picked up a win over Evansville and Louisiana Tech. Last weekend, Austin Peay went winless in Athens, Ga., falling to Central Michigan and James Madison twice before taking a setback to Georgia. Last season, APSU went 33-22 including a 16-6 record in Ohio Valley Conference play. WKU leads the all-time series against the Govs 22-6. The Tops are 9-6 when hosting Austin Peay.
ILLINOIS STATE SCOUTING REPORT
After three weekends of play, Illinois State owns a 6-7 overall record and enters the Hilltopper Spring Fling on a four-game win streak. Eight of the Redbirds' 13 games have come against opponents ranked or receiving votes including wins over [RV] South Florida and [RV] Boise State. ISU also picked up a win over North Florida in its most recent outing. Last season, Illinois State went 18-33 overall and 11-10 in Missouri Valley Conference play. ISU leads the all-time series 6-3 but WKU earned the most recent decision, an 8-2 win during the 2017 campaign.
RUNDOWN WITH THE TOPS
WKU Softball is off to an 11-4 start and owns a 3-2 record in home games this season. The Tops have constructed three come-from-behind wins with one coming in each of WKU's first three tournaments. After the first of back-to-back tournaments on The Hill, WKU Softball still have 22 more regular-season home games on the slate for the 2020 season.
TICKETS & PARKING
Single-day admission can be purchased for $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 3-12 (free on Sunday). WKU students can receive free admission by showing their student ID. Additionally, Flexible Ticket Packages are available for $35 for 27 vouchers and can be used for all regular-season games including the Hilltopper Spring Fling.
Spectator parking will be available in the Creason lot (not PS3) beyond the outfield fences of the WKU Softball Complex.
PROMOTIONS
All weekend will be celebrated as the WKU Softball Camper Reunion promotion. All WKU Softball campers will receive complimentary admission to the entire tournament.
Every home Friday this season will feature Friday Freebies where fans can enter to win a surprise – so enter your name to win when you arrive at the game.
This Sunday, and every Sunday this season, will be Sunday Funday, featuring free admission for all kids 12 and under and there will be a $5 kid's meal offered at the concession stand. Sundays will also double as Faith & Family Day all year as fans can receive free admission by bringing their church bulletin to the ticket window.
