THE SCHEDULE
- The Hilltoppers will open their season Saturday, Feb. 15 with a 1 p.m. matchup against Valpo.
- WKU will play game two against the Crusaders at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16.
- The Hilltoppers will close out their series with Valpo on Monday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
PROMOTIONS
- The first 250 fans to attend Saturday's season-opener will receive a 2020 Schedule Magnet, with the first 100 fans also receiving a Valentine's Day themed t-shirt.
- All kids 12 and under will receive free admission to Sunday's game, and are also invited to run the bases following the conclusion of the game.
SERIES HISTORY
- WKU and Valpo have previously met six times, with the Hilltoppers owning a 4-2 all-time series edge.
- The first game played between the two teams was on March 12, 1981, with WKU earning a 6-0 victory over the Crusaders.
- The two teams last met during a three-game series in 2017, as the Hilltoppers took two out of three contests against Valpo.
WKU PREVIEW
- The Hilltoppers welcome back 18 players from their 2019 roster, including 2020 Preseason All-CUSA Teamer Richard Constantine and 2019 C-USA All-Freshman Teamer Jackson Swiney.
- Constantine posted a .376/.449/.645 slash line last season while playing in just 32 games due to injury, while Swiney slashed .257/.348/.422 and recorded a perfect fielding percentage while collecting 107 putouts and two assists in the outfield during his inaugural campaign.
- WKU also welcomes in 20 newcomers to its 2020 roster, which includes a mix of 14 JuCo transfers and six freshmen.
VALPO PREVIEW
- The Crusaders went 14-36 overall during the 2019 season while adding a 6-15 mark in Missouri Valley Conference play.
- Valpo is coached by Brian Schmack, who enters his seventh season at the helm. Schmack has compiled a 134-186 record during his six seasons with the team.
- The Crusaders return 20 players from last season's roster while welcoming 13 newcomers into the fold.
