WKU Game Notes | Northern Iowa Game Notes
Â
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball opens its 102nd season against Northern Iowa at 3:30 p.m. CT Wednesday in the Bad Boy Mowers Crossover Classic in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Hilltoppers will open their campaign with three games in as many days – the start of six games in 10 days at two locations on a slate drastically changed by COVID-19.
Â
Northern Iowa returns three starters from last year's squad that went 25-6 and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title.
Â
WKU is 3-0 all-time vs. the Panthers, but the teams haven't met since 1982. Rick Stansbury has never faced UNI as a head coach, but he was on the bench as an assistant for Texas A&M when the Aggies came back from 12 down with 35 seconds to go to beat the Panthers in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
