BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU is set to play three road matches in just three days this weekend. The Lady Toppers head to NKU on Friday followed by Miami (OH) on Saturday and conclude on Sunday at Ball State.
NKU is 3-4 overall on the year, holding a 2-1 record at home. The Norse have faced common opponents with the Lady Tops including Kentucky, Lipscomb and Ball State. NKU was defeated by each of those teams.
WKU leads the all-time series between the two programs 2-1, having played its last match against NKU in 2014. The Red and White will play the Norse at the Five Seasons Sports Club in Crestview Hills, Ky. at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Miami (OH) (1-6) is 1-0 against the Lady Toppers having last recorded a final score in a match between the two teams in 1983. In 2018, the Redhawks and Lady Toppers met in Johnson City, Tenn., but concluded a match with No Result. Miami (OH) is 0-2 at home and will play WKU at 1:30 p.m. CT on Saturday in Hamilton, Ohio.
The Lady Toppers' final opponent in its three-match, three-day stretch is Ball State. The Cardinals are 6-1 on the 2019 season and 3-0 on their home court. In a five-match series dating back to 1991, the Lady Tops clinched their first victory against Ball State just last season in Muncie, Ind. WKU (0-7, 0-2 Conference USA) will play there once more on Sunday beginning at noon CT.
