Lady Toppers Fall in Friday Night Competition

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – WKU Tennis felt another defeat on Friday evening after falling to the Lipscomb Lady Bisons 4-0 at the Whitworth Racquet Club.

Beginning with doubles action, junior Lisa Friess and sophomore Laura Bernardos started at WKU's leading spot as per usual. The Red and White duo lost 6-0. Freshmen pair Zeniece Charles-Hall and Kyla Dilger played in the No. 3 spot and were defeated 6-0.

Junior Lucia Diaz Saez and freshman Judit Gonzalez Agud were ahead 3-2 in their match when the Lady Bisons clinched the doubles point.

In singles play, three matches were ultimately scored. Bernardos fell 6-0, 6-1 at the leading position. Diaz Saez competed at the No. 3 and was defeated 6-0, 6-1. Gonzalez Agud lost 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 4 and the Lady Bisons sealed their victory.

Lipscomb (5-2) snapped WKU's four-game winning streak against the Lady Bisons.

WKU falls to 0-6 on the season. The Lady Toppers will play UAB beginning at 1 p.m. at the WKU Tennis Complex on WKU's South Campus on Saturday.
