BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Tennis is set to play at Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn., on Friday evening before playing its first home match in almost two years on Saturday afternoon against UAB at the WKU Tennis Complex.
Lipscomb (4-2) has already played two opponents WKU will see this season. The Lady Bisons opened their season against Middle Tennessee and fell 5-2. Lipscomb also played Conference USA member UAB and won 4-3. The Lady Bisons hold an unbeaten 2-0 record at home this season.
UAB (2-5) has yet to play a C-USA match this season. The Blazers' two wins come from defeating Tennessee State and Kennesaw State, each by a score of 6-1. UAB will be the Lady Toppers' second C-USA opponent of the season, having fallen to North Texas last week.
The Lady Toppers are 13-10 all-time against Lipscomb and have won the last four. WKU is 1-3 all-time against UAB.
WKU's match against the Lipscomb Lady Bisons will begin at 7 p.m. at the Whitworth Racquet Club. The Lady Toppers' home match against the Blazers is set to start at 1 p.m. on WKU's South Campus. "We are excited to be playing at home and invite the community to come out and watch some good Conference USA tennis," said head coach Greg Davis on Saturday's match.
