BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field is headed for Birmingham, Ala., to compete in the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Indoor Track & Field Championships this Saturday and Sunday. Weekend action from the Birmingham CrossPlex will kick off at 9 a.m. CT on both days.
Admission costs $20 for an adult two-day pass and $10 for youth (12-17). A single day ticket costs $15 for adults and $6 for youth (12-17). Admission is free for children ages 11 and under and for students who attend a C-USA member institution and have a valid ID card.
Saturday's slate will commence with combined events with heptathlon up first. Field events are scheduled for 2 p.m., starting with men's high jump. Running preliminaries begin at 4 p.m. with the mile. The finals of the 5000m and DMR begin at 7:30 p.m. and 8:20 p.m., respectively.
Sunday opens with remaining heptathlon events at 9 a.m. The second round of field events starts at 11 a.m. with men's shot put and triple jump and the women's high jump. The remainder of the running finals begin at 1 p.m. with ESPN+ coverage kicking off at 2 p.m. The awards presentation is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. All other Championships action will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Last season, Charlotte earned the C-USA men's team title for the first time since 2001 with 127.5 points. Middle Tennessee was crowned the women's team champion for the first time since joining C-USA with 127 points. WKU's men's squad finished in eighth place in 2018 while the Lady Toppers took 11th.
