BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women's basketball team held its annual on-campus media day on Friday afternoon in the Paul Just Media Room inside E.A. Diddle Arena. Lady Topper head coach Greg Collins and seniors Dee Givens and Whitney Creech represented the team.
WKU will be guided by Collins in his second season as head coach and eighth overall season with the program. Last season, Collins led the Lady Toppers to their seventh consecutive season of 20 wins, tying the longest streak in school history.
Givens and junior Raneem Elgedaway were named to the Conference USA Preseason Team earlier this month. WKU was picked to finish third by the league's coaches, behind 2019 champs Rice and Middle Tennessee.
The Lady Toppers return the top five scorers from a season ago along with the top six most played players from 2018-19. Overall, WKU returns 86 percent of its offensive production from last season.
WKU will preview the season on Thursday, Oct. 31 against Kentucky Wesleyan in an exhibition game at Diddle Arena. The Lady Toppers officially open the season on the road, taking on Louisville at the KFC Yum Center on Nov. 5. WKU will have its season opener on Nov. 13 versus Belmont at 6 p.m.
