BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU is bound for Duluth, Ga., set to compete in the ninth annual Autotrader Collegiate Classic hosted by Georgia State. The 54-hole event is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the par-72, 6,694-yard Berkeley Hills Country Club.
On Monday, the Hilltoppers will play 36 holes of continuously play with a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. CT. The final round is set for Tuesday with tee times starting at 7 a.m. CT.
There are 13 teams in the field including three Golfweek top-100 teams: No. 56 James Madison, No. 94 Georgia State and Conference USA foe, No. 97 Southern Miss.
Each of the five Hilltoppers that competed in the last time out for WKU are in the lineup once again. Junior Jack Poole will be at the top of the five-man lineup after finishing tied for seventh at the Intercollegiate at The Grove hosted by Middle Tennessee.
Redshirt senior Linus Lo and senior Tom Bevington will join Poole along with juniors Chase Landrum and Caleb O'Toole. Freshman Luke Fuller will get his second start as a Hilltopper, competing as an individual at the Classic.
WKU has continued to improve each week in the fall season, finishing tied for third at The Grove on Tuesday. The Tops have put together a round as low as 280 with two tournaments remaining in the fall season. Lo currently leads the squad with a scoring average of 70.0 through eight rounds.
"Our best golf is in front of us," said head coach Chan Metts of the squad. "I'm excited about the future."
