Hilltoppers Return to Big Ten Country for IU Relays

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Following another successful outing last Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Invitational, the WKU Track and Field squads will make the trip to Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana University Relays. Fourteen programs including the Tops and Hoosiers will be represented at the two-day competition on Friday and Saturday.

The IU Relays will kick off on Friday with running events at 4 p.m. CT, while field competition will begin at 4:15 p.m. from the Hoosiers' Gladstein Fieldhouse. On Saturday, running events will resume at 8 a.m. with field events soon after at 8:35 a.m. Results will be available here.

Collectively, 23 Hilltoppers and Lady Toppers are slated to compete at the two-day outing. Seven Lady Toppers will represent the Red and White while 16 Hilltoppers make the trip into Big Ten country. WKU has representatives entered in 17 different events on the weekend.

In addition to WKU and Indiana, Butler, FIU, Miami (OH), North Central College, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Velaasa, Vincennes and Wisconsin will be present at the weekend outing.

Last weekend, head coach Erik Jenkins saw his squads combine for seven top-10 marks against a stout field of competitors at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Five of those seven performances were season-best marks for the Red and White including the men's 4x400-meter relay team's second place showing with a time of 3:08.91, which ranks ninth across the NCAA.
