BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lady Topper Tennis heads to Memphis on Saturday to take on the Tigers in the regular season finale for both squads. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT.
Memphis (14-7, 3-3 AAC) enters the weekend on a six-game win streak having most recently defeated Boston and UConn. The Tigers are an undefeated 6-0 on their home court this season. Memphis and WKU had six common opponents this year and the Tigers are 4-2 against those competitors, including wins over UAB, ETSU, Miami (OH) and Middle Tennessee.
WKU (8-6, 2-2 C-USA) will look to end its regular season with a win for the first time since the 2015 campaign. The Lady Toppers continue to be led this season by freshman Moka Ito who holds a 10-1 singles record, earning seven of those wins in the No. 1 spot. Ito and sophomore Monica Malinen have an 8-2 doubles mark on the year.
The Lady Toppers and Tigers have not faced one another since 2009. Memphis leads the all-time record between the two programs 8-1 and the sole WKU win came on April 21, 1978 in Bowling Green.
