BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Baseball head coach John Pawlowski has announced that the Hilltoppers will hold open tryouts Monday, Sept. 25 at Nick Denes Field beginning at 3 p.m. CT. In order to try out for the team, individuals must be a full-time WKU student and complete the necessary paperwork ahead of time.
Any player who wishes to try out must stop by the Paul C. Orberson Baseball Clubhouse (located in the building directly behind the third base dugout at The Nick) to sign up and collect the necessary forms. These forms must be completed an returned by Monday, Sept. 18, one week prior to the tryout. Participation will not be allowed if this deadline is not met.
During the tryout, position players will run a timed 60-yard dash, be graded on catch-and-throw ability from their primary positions and take batting practice on the field. Pitchers, meanwhile, will throw a 20-to-30-pitch bullpen session with a radar gun and possibly pitch to live hitters.
