WKU owns a 10-9 lead in all-time meetings with the Colonels with the first meeting taking place back during the Hilltoppers' inaugural season. Most recently, the in-state foes crossed paths in 2013 when the Red and White picked up an 8-3 victory at the WKU Softball Complex. Additionally, the Hilltoppers own a 4-3 advantage when the series heads to Richmond. This will be the first encounter between the squads under head coach Amy Tudor's tenure.
EKU is 22-28 on the season while the WKU squad comes in at an even 26-26 mark. Both sides have taken on Lipscomb, Marshall, Miami (OH), Bowling Green, Austin Peay, Murray State and Belmont. WKU picked up wins over Miami (OH), Bowling Green and Murray State while the Colonels notched a doubleheader sweep of Austin Peay.
Following the mid-week tilt, the Hilltoppers will take their schedule bye weekend in Conference USA action as the rest of the league wraps up the regular season. Already a lock in the final eight teams standing, WKU will begin C-USA Tournament action on Wednesday, May 10, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
