BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Both the No. 23rd-ranked Hilltoppers and Lady Toppers are back in action this weekend as the track and field squads will host the Hilltopper Relays on Friday and Saturday at the Charles M. Rueter Track and Field Complex.
Action on The Hill will begin Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT with the men's and women's pole vault competition and will continue Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with field events followed by running events.
Saturday will mark Senior Day for the WKU men's and women's programs as a ceremony honoring the 11 outgoing seniors is slated to begin at approximately 2:30 p.m.

This year's field has grown from 19 teams in 2016 to 21 programs. The teams attending include: Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Belmont, Cumberland, Eastern Kentucky, Findlay, Grand Valley State, Hillsdale, Indiana Tech, Kentucky State, Kentucky Wesleyan, Lindsey Wilson, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Northwood, Ohio, Siena Heights, St. Joseph's (Ind.), Tennessee Tech and Xavier.
WKU is coming off five top-15 performances at the Pepsi Florida Relays hosted by Florida last weekend. Senior Emmanuel Dasor picked up his first Conference USA Outdoor Male Track Athlete of the Week award since 2015, running a 45.93 time in the 400-meter and joining in on two relay teams that posted times in the top 10 nationally.
For the sixth consecutive year, WKU is partnering with 12 local schools for the "Fastest Kid in Bowling Green Competition". The competition will begin Saturday immediately after the collegiate competitors run the 100-meter dash and will conclude at 3:30 p.m.
An awards ceremony for the boy and girl champions from each age group (grades 1-6) will take place as soon as the results are tallied from the 48 participants. The winners from the competition will be recognized at halftime of the spring football game on April 22.
Admission for the general public will be free for both days of the Hilltopper Relays and free parking will be available at Parking Structure 2 (PS2).
The Hilltopper Relays are presented by the United States Marines. This season, the Marines and WKU Athletics are working together to promote the outstanding athletic and academic achievements of our female student-athletes. The Marines are proud to work with and support these future leaders of America.
