Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational Results
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior Khadijah Valentine earned two titles on the track and five other events were claimed by Hilltoppers at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Cardinal Park.
"We had some positive things happen today and Louisville provided a quality opportunity for us to clean up some things," head coach Erik Jenkins commented.
WKU Track and Field claimed seven overall first place finishes on the weekend. Valentine proved she is one of the best in the NCAA East Region taking the top trophy in the 100- and 200-meter dash (11.60, 23.51).
The Toronto native was also a part of the 4x100 relay team with Peli Alzola, Ariel Terrell and Jadzia Beasley who took third place with a time of 45.19 and the 4x400 relay squad who crossed the finish line at 3:46.26 to place fourth.

In the 400m hurdles, Maor Seged notched second with a time of 53.53 and Villaman took eighth in 55.09.
The 3000m steeplechase proved to be one of the better events for the Hilltoppers as Savannah Ames posted her best finish this year placing third with a time of 11:52.29. Taylor Scarbrough finished in sixth place crossing the finish line in 9:57.72 - a new personal-best.
In field events, Desmond Mobley shined as he has all year tallying a second place finish in the long jump (7.39m) and a 1.95m mark in the high jump, good for 10th.
Jenessa Jackson posted two top-five finishes, one coming in the shot put with a throw of 15.28m placing third and the other being a 53.53m mark in the hammer to finish in fourth place.
"We won several events with solid performances across the board, including quite a few individuals achieving personal best. I was encouraged by the competitive and discipline approach of the group today."
