CHICAGO -- As the first McDonald's All American in program history, WKU signee Mitchell Robinson made the most of his opportunity Wednesday night.
The five-star center scored 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting, wowing spectators with a series of rim-rattling dunks for the East squad in the 40th McDonald's All American Game at the United Center in Chicago.
Robinson -- a 7-foot prospect out of Chalmette (La.) High School -- also added three rebounds, two blocks and an assist in 13 minutes.
He came off the bench in the first half and wasted no time throwing down a dunk, then quickly added a fast-break dunk and a tip-in. Robinson had six points in just four first-half minutes.

The top recruit started the second half and quickly swatted a shot, then added three more dunks in the waning minutes -- including a reverse alley-oop and a slam off the backboard.
Robinson also had a bucket and the foul in the second half off an offensive rebound.
Because of his elite skills for a big man, former NBA pro and college basketball analyst Jay Williams remarked at one point during the ESPN broadcast that Robinson "could possibly be the best athlete on the floor."

Not only is Robinson the first McDonald's All American in WKU history, but he's the first from a Conference USA school since Memphis' Shaq Goodwin in 2012.
Robinson is also the sixth McDonald's All American signed by WKU's Rick Stansbury as a head coach, joining standouts Mario Austin, Renardo Sidney, Monta Ellis, Travis Outlaw and Jonathan Bender from Stansbury's tenure at Mississippi State.
Robinson, who signed with Stansbury and WKU in November, is ranked as the No. 6 prospect nationally in the 2017 class by Rivals, Scout and 247Sports. He's the Hilltoppers' highest-ranked prospect during the modern recruiting service era, as well as Stansbury's highest-ranked recruit during his 15 seasons as a head coach.
Robinson averaged 25.7 points, 12.6 rebounds and 7.1 blocks per game as a senior at Chalmette. The Owls reached Louisiana's Class 5A state semifinals.
Robinson received Naismith High School Boys' All-American honorable mention honors earlier this month, and he will next compete in the Jordan Brand Classic on April 14 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
