BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Track & Field will kick off its 2017-18 campaign on Saturday at the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener in Nashville, Tenn. Action will kick off at 10 a.m. CT, with field events while running events will commence at 1 p.m. from the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.

Head Coach Erik Jenkins' squad is set to open its fifth-straight season from Music City with Saturday's meet. In last season's opener, WKU collected four combined event titles in addition to a meet record. Now on the staff side, Ventavius Sears claimed two of the Hilltoppers' titles at last year's opener. Julius Morris claimed the third men's title. On the women's side, Jenessa Jackson secured an event crown as well.

Joining Vanderbilt and WKU at Saturday's competition are Belmont, Louisville, Murray State, Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee, Austin Peay, Tennessee Tech, Campbellsville, Jackson State, Berry, Memphis, Alabama A&M, Mercer, Trevecca Nazarene and UT-Martin.

In its first three seasons in the league, the WKU men have secured two C-USA titles and a runner-up finish and will look to carry the hot streak into the 2017-18 indoor season. On the women's side, the Lady Toppers have produced a pair of runner-up finishes and a fifth place showing since joining Conference USA.

After graduating an All-American filled senior class following last season, WKU Track & Field will turn to its younger student-athletes as several new faces fill the roster.
