The All-Region selection is Holloway's first of her career as she became the eighth Lady Topper in program history to be named an All-Region selection and joins Olivia Watkins (2014) as a third team honoree. 2016 marks the fourth consecutive season that at least one WKU player has earned NFCA All-Region recognition.
Holloway finished her career on The Hill in superb fashion, earning Conference USA Second-Team honors after leading the Lady Toppers in several offensive categories.
A native of Flower Mound, Texas, Holloway led WKU at the plate with a .360 batting average and produced a career-best 11 home runs, including a pair of walk-off slams against North Texas and Marshall. The shortstop also led WKU with 30 runs, 50 hits, nine doubles, 29 RBI, .470 on-base percentage and seven stolen bases and finished the year with an impressive .676 slugging percentage.
Over 380 players from 157 different programs have been chosen to the 2016 NFCA Division I All-Region squads and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to one of the three NFCA Division I All-American teams.
The 2016 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced at approximately 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, June 1, via NFCA.org.
