C-USA All-Academic Team
IRVING, Texas -- WKU softball's Jordan Mauch was recognized as part of the 12-person Conference USA All-Academic Team as announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.
The All-Academic Team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve on their team. Mauch, a psychology/Spanish major currently holds a 3.91 GPA and appeared in 40 games for the Lady Toppers in 2016, starting all but three contests.
The native of Maple Grove, Minnesota, finished second on the team with a .324 hitting percentage and was among the team leaders in several offensive categories, ranking third in both hits (36) and doubles (6), and second with six home runs and a .541 slugging percentage.
Mauch recorded several big performances for the Lady Toppers in 2016 as the walk-on registered two-home run performances against both FIU and North Texas. In WKU's 8-4 victory over Western Carolina, the sophomore led the way, tallying three hits and a career-high five RBI.
Mauch is the second Lady Topper to earn C-USA All-Academic team honors, joining Preslie Cruce (2012-15) who was honored in 2015 in WKU's inaugural year as a league member.
