2016 Fall World Series Rosters
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Baseball will put the cherry on top of its fall season this week, as the team's annual Fall World Series gets underway Thursday, Oct. 20 at Nick Denes Field, with first pitch slated for 4 p.m. CT.
The Hilltoppers are scheduled to take part in a five-game intrasquad series, with Game 2 on Friday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. CT and Game 3 on Sunday, Oct. 23 with the starting time TBA. Games 4 and 5 will take place Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 26-27, if necessary. All games will be open to the public with free admission.
This is WKU fans' first official opportunity to see the Hilltoppers compete at Nick Denes Field following a $1.3 million investment that included a complete AstroTurf playing surface, dugouts, outfield walls and bullpens installed over the summer.
Returning left-handed pitcher Ryan Thurston (4.20 ERA with 79 strikeouts in 79.1 innings across 14 starts) and newcomer right-handed pitcher Paul Kirkpatrick (pitched for Great Britain in WBC qualifying) lead the Easton (Red) Team to face outfielders Steven Kraft (.319/.409/.476) and Kaleb Duckworth (.329/.421/.473) of the Black Team. Be sure to keep an eye on @WKUBaseball over the next few days, as starting pitchers and lineups are TBA.
