BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Softball will join in all of the action on The Hill this weekend as its plays in three games across Saturday and Sunday, while hosting two more neutral-site contests. Weekend events will be part of the team's Bark in the Park fundraiser to support local nine-year-old entrepreneur Abbi Broadway as she raises money to afford a service dog.

WKU vs. Kentucky - 2 p.m. CT
WKU vs. Columbia State C.C. - 4 p.m. CT
Broadway will throw out the opening pitch in the first two WKU games of the weekend. At just nine years of age, Broadway has started her own business (Abbi's Barkery) in hopes of raising money to afford a service dog she needs to help deal with life altering seizures caused by Epilepsy. WKU's first contest of the weekend will take place on Saturday against Volunteer State at 5:30 p.m. CT. The Lady Pioneers return five players who hit over .300 last year and a pitcher in Chelsy Stephenson who earned 10 wins on the mound.
Kentucky comes to town the following day to face the Lady Toppers at 2 p.m. CT from the WKU Softball Complex. The Wildcats bring back Freshman All-SEC utility player Abbey Cheek and reigning SEC Coach of the Year in Rachel Lawson.
In WKU's final game they will face NJCAA-Division I foe Columbia State at 4 p.m. CT, a team that won 43 games last spring while knocking out 47 dingers in route to the Region 7 championship.
Admission is free to all weekend softball events for both fans and their furry friends. Owners are encouraged to bring their leashed dogs to the WKU Softball Complex and indulge in treats from Abbi's Barkery.
WKU Softball will conclude fall action with a game against Brescia on Saturday, Oct. 22, which is set to begin at noon CT, again from the WKU Softball Complex.
