2015-16 WKU Hilltopper Basketball Schedule (PDF)
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- Home games against Middle Tennessee, UAB, LA Tech, Charlotte and Old Dominion highlight the Conference USA portion of the 2015-16 Hilltopper Basketball schedule, announced Monday by WKU.
In its second year in C-USA, WKU hosts three of the top-four finishers in the league a season ago, plus welcomes longtime rival Middle Tennessee back to Bowling Green for the first time since the 2012-13 season. In all, WKU's 18 game conference schedule is comprised of home-and-home series with Middle Tennessee, UAB, Marshall, Charlotte and Old Dominion and single games against the other eight teams in the league.
Middle Tennessee travels to E.A. Diddle Arena on Saturday, Jan. 30 for the first time since the two competed in the Sun Belt Conference in the 131st meeting in the all-time series dating back to 1914-15. WKU leads the series 92-38 and 52-13 in Bowling Green.
Other notable returns to E.A. Diddle Arena include UAB's first visit since 2006 on Jan. 28 and LA Tech's first visit since 2001 on March 5. The Blazers were C-USA's representative in the NCAA Tournament last season, where they upset third-seeded Iowa State in the second round.
WKU opens with five of its first seven league games away from home, including road trips to Texas to play Rice (Jan. 14) and North Texas (Jan. 16) and to the east coast to play Old Dominion (Jan. 21) and Charlotte (Jan. 23), but the Hilltoppers end the season with five-of-seven at home including the finale against last year's regular-season champion LA Tech (March 5).
The Hilltoppers open league play on Sunday, Jan. 3 at Marshall and have their first home conference games the following weekend against FIU (Jan. 7) and Florida Atlantic (Jan. 9).
The C-USA Tournament will be held March 8-12 in Birmingham, Ala., and will include all 14 schools.
C-USA's television partners could still ask for date changes to accommodate broadcast schedules. Information on the non-conference portion of the 2015-16 schedule will be available in the coming weeks.
WKU went 12-6 in C-USA play in 2014-15, finishing tied for fourth in the conference, and 20-12 overall.
