MIAMI, Fla.— A solid third baseman for the WKU softball team, senior Preslie Cruce is just as solid in the classroom, claiming a spot on the 13-person Conference USA All-Academic Team.
The All-Academic Team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a starter or key reserve on their team. Cruce holds a 3.73 GPA, as she majors in physical education while she has started every game of her career except one.
Named to the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll earlier this season, Cruce has made her mark in WKU softball history, holding the all-time career records with 149 runs, 91 walks, and 79 hit by pitches. The Empire, Ala., native is also top five in home runs, total bases, multi-hit games and assists. This season, Cruce leads the team with eight doubles and 12 hit by pitches and second with four home runs while third on the team with 26 runs, 36 hits and 22 RBI
