BOWLING GREEN, Ky.-- For the second time in three weeks, the Tennessee State softball team (9-28) has informed WKU that they don't have enough players to field a team due to injuries and illness, causing Wednesday's doubleheader against WKU (25-7, 10-2) to be cancelled in Bowling Green.
Wednesday's game was a rescheduled event after the Tigers couldn't come to the WKU Softball Complex for a pair of games on April 1 for the same reason provided.
WKU's only games of the week will now be at FIU this weekend. The Lady Toppers and Panthers are set for a doubleheader on Saturday at 3 p.m. CT with a single game on Sunday at noon CT.
With the cancellation, WKU's only home games left this season in April 25-26 against Charlotte. The squad will honor its eight seniors that weekend as well.
